Volunteer Service

Volunteers are important members of the Hospice Team. They provide encouragement and companionship to our patients and their families. All hospice volunteers receive hospice training and must be screened while meeting certain standard health care guidelines and training by hospice professionals.

Services performed by volunteers included:

• Providing companionship for patients or family, such as reading a book, assisting around the home or just being a good listener;
• Running errands;
• Arts and crafts;
• Performing clerical duties in the hospice office;
• Educating the community about the value of hospice volunteers;
